The group meets monthly on the 2nd Monday of each month, at 7pm.  We meet in each other’s houses, taking turns to host the group (external venues are available if members are unable to accommodate).  We aim for a maximum of 12 group members as this allows good discussion of the wines.

The host decides on the theme and purchases the wines accordingly.  We usually have three white and three red wines, but this is entirely at the host’s choice.  Each member brings their own tasting glasses and some savoury nibbles to share.  Often we do blind tastings, trying to guess the grape, country, and price!  The host usually offers tasting notes afterwards (as found on the bottle or online).  Enthusiasm is more important than any expert knowledge!  We enjoy learning about wine in a sociable setting.

Depending on the wine cost, and number of members attending, we usually pay between £5-£10 per meeting, reimbursing the host, and with any extra going into the kitty for future tastings.
