About us

The aim of the Short Breaks group is to organise, and go on, short breaks away (Friday PM to Wednesday) or shorter as a group, or part of.  The members going away will travel together where possible, will stick together and dine together a bit like a family would as we are there not only to enjoy ourselves but also to support one another.

Primarily it will be a car share scheme and currently there is only one car and one driver available (the Group Leader).  Obviously if more car drivers join who are willing to car share then there will be increased flexibility.  There will always be the option to explore other forms of transport if necessary.

However to set some ground rules.

If any member wishes to go along but have their own agenda, such as not joining in with group activities or wishes to go on different days to the driver and the other members (i.e. Wednesday to Friday) or a different destination they will be expected to find their own transport whether or not there is room in the car as this is car share not a taxi service.

Each member will pay their own expenses.  Car expenses will be decided by mutual agreement.

Destinations, when to go, where to stay, where to visit, where to eat etc will be decided as a group.

We will meet as and when required.
