French Reading

Status:Active, open to new members
Leader:
When: Monthly on Monday afternoons 2:30 pm-3:30 pm
Third Monday of the month
Venue: The Royal Oak

If your French could do with a bit of exercise, this could be the group for you – a monthly book club to read and discuss books in French. We read modern books, novels or factual, which we choose together.

We meet at the Royal Oak in the upstairs room on the third Monday of the month at 14:30 for about an hour. A general chat to ease us in, a discussion of the book and a few minutes to choose the next book.

Anyone is welcome to join but you would need a reasonable level of French, rusty is fine.  Equally, if you are bilingual, we would love to have you too.

For the moment, membership is restricted to 10 to fit in the meeting space.

Meeting dates and books:
21st September – Changer l’eau des fleurs by Valérie Perrin

19th October – Frappe-toi le coeur by Amélie Nothomb

16th November – L’homme aux cercles bleus by Fred Vargas

No meeting in December
