About us
Our mutual goals are to support each other’s interest in family history. To help one another through sharing experiences, knowledge, and findings of different methods of research, together with the various online family history data sources. To generally provide encouragement to those who are starting out. We are very much of a self-help group, whilst also having a certain amount of enjoyment in the process. We will be lead through active participation, hands on learning, consensus and experiences.
There will always be an agreed group co-ordinator who will help with the handling the co-ordination for members joining and leaving the group, scheduling meetings, sending reminders, and the sharing of materials to members. We tend to be informal and democratic, share our personal information, with decisions being made on a group coordinated basis. We try to arrange our meetings on the fourth Monday of each Month (except December). Conformation of forward dates are arranged by mutual agreement, and meetings run for a couple of hours, either at a member’s house or a suitable venue depending on availability and cost.
Outside venues sometimes incur a cost to cover accommodation, beverage and biscuits.
