Topic: 946 and all That. Chapters in a Parish History

Gail is an archaeologist, historian, and former Senior Curator of Archaeology & World Cultures with Bristol Museums. Drawing on decades of professional experience and extensive local research, Gail will present ‘946 and All That: Chapters in a Parish History’. This fascinating talk takes us on a journey through the history of Pucklechurch, South Gloucestershire parish, from prehistoric settlements and Roman occupation to its significance in Anglo-Saxon England. Along the way, we will uncover remarkable stories, including the dramatic murder of King Edmund in AD 946, and discover how archaeology and local history combine to bring the past vividly to life.
