We are two small, friendly groups of people at various stages of learning and improving spoken Spanish, from beginners to more advanced.

There are two groups: Advanced Beginners to Intermediate and Advanced Intermediate to Fluent. See here for details of the Advanced Intermediate to Fluent Group.

Advanced Beginners to Intermediate Group meets on alternate Tuesdays in members’ homes usually in Tetbury. The emphasis is on Spanish conversation, improved by learning sessions on a point of grammar.

A typical session might include: Chat in pairs or as a group about what we have done since we last met, using the past tenses, or present tense for beginners and a revision of what we covered in the last session. One member will then talk through a learning point, possibly having distributed notes beforehand, such as the difference between ser and estar, when to use conocer or saber or the use of a particular tense. We then agree what we will cover for the next session and who will lead the learning point. It is light-hearted with plenty of laughter. Do come and join our self-help group.
