We are an inclusive and active group with the objectives of improving photography skills, learning new things and enjoying ourselves. All types of cameras (including smartphones) and all levels of experience are welcome.

Our programme includes a mixture of trips out, (which often include lunch), and indoor sessions, which include advice and informative talks on specific photography topics, (such as picture composition, editing and file management), as well as more specific inputs on photo techniques such as night photography, portraits and landscapes. We are also looking at monthly project briefs on topics suggested by Group Members, where Members have the month to take topic related photos at their leisure.

We provide the opportunity for members to present their photos, (from trips out or monthly project titles) and speak about what made them take that photo, what they like about it and why they took that photo in that way.  We encourage friendly and constructive feedback to support Members in their photography taking and experiences.

Occasionally we hold Group Competitions on selected topics and have prizes (small and usually chocolate related!).

We have a ‘Flicker’ account where Group Members photos can be presented and shared and we are looking at other opportunities for how our photos can be shared with other u3a members on the u3a website and through small exhibitions.

We meet at various venues in and around Tetbury. Dates and times may vary depending on what we are doing/where we are going.

Trips planned for later in 2026 include Kemble Airfield, Castle Comb, Malmesbury Abbey, Cotswold Sculpture Park, Arnos Vale Cemetry. Details will be added in due course.
